When Can I Have An Ultrasound?

In Video Prenatal, we recommend you perform an elective 2D Ultrasound starting from the 7th week if you are looking to hear your baby’s heartbeat or get photos to keep as souvenirs.

Additionally, if you want to see your baby more accurately, we have the 3D / 4D Ultrasound service.

We detail more about what each service we provide is about:

2D Ultrasound

2D is the traditional ultrasound method that has been used for years. 2D produces a flatter, two-dimensional, black and white image of your baby. You can see the baby bone highlighted in white. You can have this ultrasound from week 7 to listen to the heartbeat of your baby. If you want to determine the gender, you can do it from week 15.

3D, 4D Ultrasound

Like normal ultrasounds, 3D and 4D ultrasounds use sound waves to create an image of your baby in your uterus. What is different is that 3D ultrasounds create a three-dimensional image of your baby, while 4D ultrasounds create a live video effect, like a movie. You can see your baby smile or yawn. From week 22, it is advisable to undergo the 3D / 4D Ultrasound to capture, with greater clarity, those beautiful moments of your baby.

Live HD Ultrasound

HD live ultrasound technology uses a unique, mobile light source that not only provides 3D and 4D images, but also illuminates the baby. This technology makes it possible for parents to see their child’s facial expressions and even see yawns. We recommend performing this ultrasound from week 26 onwards.

In Video Prenatal, located in Charlotte, we have packages from $45 for 2D Ultrasound, $65 for 3D / 4D Ultrasound, and $100 for HD Ultrasound.

Performing an Ultrasound is having the option of being able to save a nice memory in images and video. You can save these images and videos forever in one of our stuffed animals by paying an additional fee according to the size of the stuffed animal.
